Abstract

Emergency endoscopy for active upper gastrointestinal bleeding was performed in 25 patients. Oral application of hemostatic agent 5% sodium alginate (Lamina G¢ç) for control of bleeding was performed in 25 patients after emergency endoscopy. The indication for this method was active upper gastrointestinal bleeding. 22 patients (88%) had hemostatis after treatment.
This clinical trial suggests that Lamina G¢ç is an attractively hemostatic agent of controlling active upper gastrointestinal bleeding because it can be safe, effective, and available in most medical communities.
